Sweet Sunday: The Send Off

So unfortunately I totally missed my Sweet Sunday deadline for yesterday… partially because it was more of a bittersweet Sunday instead of a totally sweet one. Yesterday was Purdue's May Graduation, and I got to send off 5 of my closest friends to start their next chapter. Two of us have quite a bit of school left, but we could not be more proud of our little crew and all they have accomplished in their time spent here.  It has been such a weird concept to fully grasp: the idea that my closest college friends have crossed off this milestone, and are now moving all over the country to start on much bigger ones. Two weddings, new jobs, grad school… we are all letting the wind take us anywhere and everywhere, and I must say I am so excited for the near future for all of these ladies.  I am still here at Purdue, which I am fortunate for (somedays more than others) until August when I will get the luxury of also becoming a Purdue Alum.

Up here at Purdue, we have an entire week between the end of finals and graduation, so you better believe my friends and I lived last week to the fullest while we were still in the same city.  Tuesday, we embraced our college town once again, Wednesday we up an left for a day in Chicago and did all the touristy things you do there like eat at Giordano's Pizza, took a million pictures at "The Bean" which is actually called The Cloud Gate.. look it up. It's kind of cool. Walked down Michigan Ave, experienced the Navy Pier. It was just the best. Thursday, we were able to relax, get pedicures, and be girly hanging around Lafayette once again, and Friday we just had a movie night and baked brownies. It was definitely a full week, but in summary, we were able to do all the normal, ordinary things that we like to do together with no obligations or responsibilities in sight to hold us back. The friendships I have developed with all of these beautiful people hold such a special place in my heart, and I would rather think that these goodbyes are more of a "see you soon" instead of the alternative.  We were group texting at 8:30 this morning, so I don't think we will be unglued anytime soon ;) Here are some of the glorious pictures we have taken from our adventure this week! Love these girls to the moon and back, and I could not have thanked them enough  for their friendship. Here's to celebrating your graduation, the best three years I could have asked for, and to the new-founding separation anxiety we are about to undergo!

For those of you celebrating graduation season and need gift ideas, I posted some pictures below. None of these are my gifts that I have given, but I have done something similar to all of them! Enjoy this time. Transition is always exciting, but it is always a little sad when you have something so good to say goodbye too.

You Want to Talk About Mothhaaaas

Sorry about the title… it's off of White Chicks (the movie) and I couldn't help myself

I know I am bias, but I truly believe I have the best mother around. Today (Mother's Day) I of course had to give a huge shout out to my mom :)
All the fabulous in one picture ;)

Through thick and thin, she's my number one, go-to human, and I would be no where without her. Literally, NO WHERE. Yes, we have had our differences, BIG differences, but that doesn't stop us from being the power team that I feel like we are. Single-handedly, she has become my role model and forever friend.

This year, I gave my mom a new baking accessories, a hand mixer, and kitchen aide bowl as a gift, so I don't have any cool crafts to share... but what really takes the cake [<< see what I did there ;)] is the card:

I realized when I was writing this that I give a lot of the same gifts to my mom for Mother's Day, but below I thought were some cute, funny, and kind words to say on Mother's Day. I have made a few of these things, and said a few too.

I don't have any siblings from my mom, but I thought this was too funny

Thanks for reading! I hope all you moms out there have the most perfect day!
